Lesson for the day

When attempting to locate and solve a hardware problem, start by testing the cheap components. Don't spend 70 Euros on a new external drive case, let alone 75 Euros on a new 500 Gigabyte hard disk, without first testing whether the 18 Euro connector cable is defective.

File under: Duh.

Mind you, 500 Gigabytes for 75 Euros is a pretty hot deal. I am certain that I can find a use for them somewhere, possibly inside that brand-new external drive case.

And file that under: Lemonade.

Nice place to fill up with photos and songs. (And maybe some drafts of new posts?)

OR, Do take the expensive option before replacing the cheap thing, because then you can justify having the more expensive thing...
