The future of campaign politics

Sean Tevis is running for Congress in Kansas as an independent, with no party backing or political grandfathering. He's doing it from the ground up via the Interwebs, including raising US$ 26,000 by July 28th. 2894 people have donated US$8.34 each at his website, he needs 106 more to hit the ballot. A-bloody-mazing.

If I were a political party animal — of whatever species — I'd be pretty worried, because this is the future. I'm willing to bet that a Union of Independents will be a viable third power (not necessarily a party) within a decade.

And now there's work to be done. Shabbat shalom, my dears.
