Nearly there

A quickie while the others are at lunch. The plans are done, the sections are done, the elevations and site layout are being finished; I am about to start calculating the areas and volumes (= building cost, more or less). We look on target to be finished tonight. Hoo-fucking-ray.

[Updated at 23:11] not finished. Very close, though. Should be done by midday tomorrow.

How many others bid like this? How long before you know? Is it more work after you win to produce working drawings or does someone else do that? Oh well, it's a job.

Knock 'em dead! (But not so dead that they can't pay you.)

Joe: it's not a bid as such. Each team (roughly 30) produces an alternative design including approximate costings, and the committee chooses the best design — in theory. It may well be more work, possibl even for me, but winning is not the same as getting the contract to design and build.

Pacian: a fine and subtle distinction.
