National Trivia Day
I slept in until 7:20 this morning, such a luxury. Breakfasted, walked for an hour under bright blue skies (neither as long nor where I intended, my knees gave out at the top of the second Stäffele), had a cappuccino in a smoky hole-in-the-wall café, showered & shampooed but not shaved, and now—bright-eyed and bushy-tailed—listening to Sheherezade and getting ready for work. I am determined to take the bit between my teeth, the bull by the horns and the tiger by the tail, and finally do some serious testing and debugging of this damned database. It's clear that I cannot rely on Georgette for testing: she doesn't notice when things go wrong, and when she does notice she thinks nothing of it; so I shall have to overcome my reluctance and just get on with it.
In other news Spring is racing onwards, the bees have emerged from their winter hibernation and are busily buzzing around. I found the first fly of the year bumping against the kitchen windows, and let it out. Must be the influence of the meditation softening my instinct to violence: I'd have swatted it without thought a few years ago.
