The swallows are back, I saw (and heard) the first of them circling above the city this afternoon. Summer is just around the corner.

Lovely.
Last night, I saw a nighthawk circling our work parking lot, calling out over and over. And it made me think, 'How can one live somewhere where they don't get the joy of the changing seasons?'
Thanks for the reminder, I should hang up my hummingbird feeder again.
Do you know if it's true that swallows return to the exact same nest each year? That is what my father said about the barn swallows but I don't know how you could verify such a thing without a GPS tracking system ring attached to their ankles.
Birds make life more musical.
