An adventure
Guess what I'm doing this evening? No, don't bother, even with 37 tries you'd never get it.
I am babysitting Larry while Slim goes dancing at a friend's birthday party. He's two-and-a-half and allegedly sleeps through the night, and allegedly will be asleep by the time I get there, but still: I would confess to being a little nervous. I suggested to Slim that I practice changing his diaper, but she assures me that this will not be necessary.
Wish me luck!

LUCK!
Did Slim mean changing Larry's diaper won't be necessary or practicing isn't necessary? And was she right? In any case, Larry's lucky to have you for a baby sitter. So is Slim.
The evening went well: Larry was still awake as I got there, we spent half an hour watching the cars and talking about where they were going ("to Mama" was a common destination), then he went to bed and slept through until Slim came home. No diaper changing necessary (which is what she had meant). I used the time wisely, eating bio-coookies and reading a funny and touching love-story Solange du da bist by Marc Levy (original title "Et si c'etait vrai"; on Amazon under two titles "Just like heaven" and "If only it were true")
Glad you've had a good time. I get terrified of the thought of spending time alone with the nephew. My brother-in-law says it is because Josh senses fear.
He's going to be 2 in less than a month and loves to sing and dance and read books (or have you read to him). It is nice to be an aunt but even better that I don't have to change diapers!
The thought of you babysitting makes me smile. And in a good way. ;-) Nice to hear about the domestic side if udge.
