Slow
According to the clock, I've been awake for over two hours, but I haven't even got through my daily blogreading yet. Some days I am just slow, everything takes ages though I am not aware of walking/talking/eating/reading slowly.
This is not the same as time flying past because of the intensity of the fun-having, it's more as though I had been asleep at the desk without noticing. Oliver Sachs describes something similar in a patient who took several hours to raise his hand to rub his nose, without being aware that he was moving slowly. I would like to set up a videocamera to watch myself on such days, though I would fear the results.
In other news: I've been going without coffee for a while, to see whether that would improve my miserable guts, which it seems to do. I made some this morning as a test and now my guts are miserable, therefore the coffee is at least partly responsible. I shall have to give it up.

Green tea contains lots less caffeine than coffee, and you can cut that way down by steeping for 30 sec, tossing that cup and steeping again.
Udge, have you tried a coffee substitute made from beets & other bizarre things? I have one called Inka, it tastes close enough to coffe for me, at least with soy milk and honey added. Maybe not black.
Good luck, it's worth it to get your gut back.
